Idracowra Station is seeking a motivated, reliable Station Hand to join our team.
  • The role will require the successful candidate to work alongside the managers in the day-to-day running of our Station.

  • The role will include all aspects of station work including lick/bore runs, cattle work, and general maintenance.

  • Seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic can-do work ethic in our member to work a part of a team and independently.

  • Please note: Mustering with buggies and motorbikes only (no horses).

Idracowra Station is part of the Adnanta Pastoral Company, a family-owned and operated cattle enterprise located in Central Australia. Adnanta Pastoral Company consists of two adjoining properties — Idracowra Station and Umbearra Station — situated south of Alice Springs.

Together, Idracowra and Umbearra cover 8,200 km² of certified organic rangeland grazing country. Idracowra Station itself encompasses around 4,628 km², positioned about 265 kilometres south of Alice Springs. The landscape features a mix of open floodplains, river country, and lightly timbered rangelands.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Mustering and processing of cattle - Mustering with buggies and motorbikes only (no horses).

  • Servicing and maintaining vehicles/machinery 

  • Regularly checking watering points

  • Operating machinery

  • General property maintenance (including fences, cattle yards and other infrastructure)

  • Taking direction and reporting to directors

  • Homestead maintenance and gardening

  • Ensure general tidiness and cleanliness of the work area

  • Compliance with all policies, procedures and lawful instructions of Adnanta Pastoral Company

Job Requirements

  • Ability to ride a motorbike safely and confidently

  • Drivers Licence and the ability to drive a manual car

  • Commitment to a year’s employment

  • Must have initiative and be able to work as a team member and independently as required

  • Sound cattle knowledge

  • Comply with health and safety procedures

  • Clean & sober habits

  • Organisational and time management skills
