Calton Hills is seeking an experienced, steady and capable Head Stockman to lead our stock camp and support day-to-day cattle operations across the station. This is a key leadership role on a well-run Northern pastoral property located just one hour from Mount Isa.
Calton Hills Station is a large, Indigenous-owned pastoral property located approximately one hour north-west of Mount Isa, Queensland. Covering around 500,000 hectares, the station encompasses a diverse mix of country, supporting large-scale cattle operations across varying landscapes and conditions.

The Head Stockman will:
Lead the stock camp and daily cattle operations.
Coordinate mustering (heli, bikes, horses, buggies).
Handle cattle calmly and efficiently with low-stress methods.
Oversee weaner handling, yard work and herd health.
Help maintain fencing, waters and general station infrastructure.
Train and mentor junior staff.
Work closely with the Station Manager to keep operations running smoothly.
Experienced Stockman with 10+ years experience.
Strong stock skills with a calm, low-stress style.
Confident on horses and/or motorbikes.
Proven ability to lead and train a small team.
Practical, reliable, and safety-focused.
Comfortable living and working in remote northern conditions.
